XperTune performance software for the Porsche 987.2 Boxster and Cayman, covering both the 2.9-litre and 3.4-litre S engines (2009-2012), flashed through a handheld device via the OBD-II port rather than removing the for bench flashing. Vehicle data is read with the handheld, emailed to Fabspeed's tuner, and a custom map is returned within 1-2 business days to flash back through the same device, which can also revert to stock at any time. On the 2.9-litre, output rises from a stock 256hp/214 lb-ft to 274hp/229 lb-ft; on the 3.4-litre S, from 310hp/266 lb-ft to 337hp/281 lb-ft.
