Porsche adopted real caimans for the launchWhen the Cayman coupe launched in 2005, Porsche marked the new name with an unusually literal gesture. It adopted four real caimans at Stuttgart's Wilhelma Zoo.

Performance Package

The 987.1 Cayman and Boxster are some of the best-balanced Porsches ever built, and this package is designed around that chassis rather than treating the flat-six as an afterthought. It bundles a choice of street or race headers with a matched air filter and performance software, tuned specifically for the 987.1's factory piping and mounting points.

TracTive builds semi-active electronic suspension in the Netherlands, developed by engineers with roots in WP Suspension's original racing dampers. A and control unit read the road and adjust each damper within milliseconds, fitted either as a plug-and-play kit through a car's existing factory electronics or as a standalone kit running TracTive's own control unit. Touring and Track lines are available depending on the car, fitted through our network with pricing confirmed at consult. The 987.1 Cayman and Boxster get the same full spread as the later 987.2, Touring and Track, plug-and-play or standalone, so the car can be set up for the road or firmed up for track work.

Chris opted for the Fabspeed Maxflo exhaust system with polished stainless tips on his 987 Cayman S, to increase that sports car sound without being too obnoxious.
