OEM shifter cables on the 996/997/997.2 range will eventually break, and Numeric Racing's replacement set is built to outlast them: a wider diameter cable, aluminium rod ends, and stainless steel mounting connectors work together to eliminate the excess movement that causes the factory cables to fail. The wider cable and stronger fittings also sharpen gear engagement, so shifts feel more precise as well as more durable. Each set includes 5 yellow inner caps, which are single-use, and Numeric backs the cables with a limited lifetime warranty.

Numeric Racing's custom Bulkhead Wrench is highly recommended for installation, and is offered as an add-on.

Will the metal cable ends make noise?

Some customers notice a slight increase in noise or vibration from the metal ends; Numeric's Shifter Cable Insulation is available as an add-on to mitigate it.

Which option should I choose?

The Bulkhead Cable Wrench is a genuinely useful installation tool rather than a cosmetic extra - Numeric Racing highly recommends it for fitting the cables. The Cable Noise Insulation is worth adding only if cable-end noise or vibration is a concern for you.

Who installs it?

Rennen Motorsport in Adelaide, or an authorised dealer near you. Fitting it yourself may also be an option depending on the part, so raise it on your consult; professional installation is quoted separately.
