A cold air intake for the Porsche 986 Boxster and Boxster S, replacing the factory airbox with a MAX-FLO system built from aircraft-grade 5052 aluminum. A heat shield keeps hot engine bay air away from the filter to hold down intake temperatures, and the reusable conical filter is a dry-style design, no oiling, just a wash with warm water. Fabspeed's dyno testing on a Boxster S showed a dyno curve gain of 26.4 hp and 19.2 ft-lbs of torque at 7000 rpm. Because the factory airbox has to come out, either by dropping the engine or cutting the old box apart, Fabspeed recommends professional installation. Depending on availability, the heat shield ships in either carbon fiber or powder-coated aluminum.
