A carbon fiber competition air intake for the Porsche 996 GT3 (1999-2005), developed by and for professional IMSA race teams but equally at home on the street. The factory airbox is designed to muffle induction sound; this intake lets the GT3's flat-six induction note through instead. Genuine carbon fiber construction resists heat transfer for consistently cooler intake air, and dual dry-style filters need no oiling, just an occasional wash with warm water. On Fabspeed's dyno it added 12whp and 10 ft-lbs of torque while saving 3 lbs. Compatible with an IPD plenum and 82mm GT3 throttle body, though this needs extra hose adjustment during install. Simple DIY bolt-on installation, no cutting or welding. Rennen Motorsport or an authorised dealer can handle the fit too, for owners who'd rather leave it to a professional.

Frequently asked

Does the Carbon Fiber Competition Air Intake fit my 911 GT3 / GT3 RS?

This listing is specific to the Porsche 911 GT3 / GT3 RS (996). Exact fitment for your year, trim and options is confirmed on your free consult before anything is ordered.

What does the price include?

The delivered price includes the part from Fabspeed USA, freight to Australia, import costs and GST. Enter your postcode to refine delivery; the final figure is confirmed on consult.

How long until it arrives?

Every Fabspeed part is made in-house at Fabspeed USA with about a one-week production lead time, then allow another 3-4 days for delivery to Australia via UPS. That freight is already included in the price.

Will this make the car louder?

Yes, the factory airbox is designed to muffle induction sound, and this intake reveals the GT3 flat-six's induction note instead.

Does the filter need oiling?

No, the dual dry-style filters don't need oiling, just an occasional wash with warm water.

How much power does it add?

Fabspeed's dyno testing showed gains of 12whp and 10 ft-lbs of torque.

Is this compatible with an IPD plenum and GT3 throttle body?

Yes, though Fabspeed notes it needs some extra hose adjustment during installation to fit an IPD plenum with the 82mm GT3 throttle body.

Who installs it?

Rennen Motorsport in Adelaide, or an authorised dealer near you. Fitting it yourself may also be an option depending on the part, so raise it on your consult; professional installation is quoted separately.

Is it covered by warranty?

Fabspeed products carry the manufacturer's warranty, supported locally through Rennen Plus as the Australian principal. See our returns policy.

Can I just buy this outright, or do I need to talk to someone first?

Every enquiry, whether it's one part or a full build, starts with a free consult. We confirm the exact spec for your car before anything is quoted or ordered.
