Numeric Racing's short throw shifter for the 964/993 (2WD) is CNC-machined from aerospace-grade aluminium and replaces every stock bushing and metal-on-metal contact point with precision ball bearings, removing the slop that gives the factory shifter its vague, long-throw feel. Throw is adjustable between a 40 percent and 33 percent reduction, and the whole assembly is around 30 percent lighter than stock thanks to the removed hardware. It's plug-and-play with either the stock shift rod or an FDM Golden Rod, and Swine Eleven also makes a matching shift boot trim panel for a cleaner, "Singer-style" boot.

Frequently asked

Which cars does the Numeric Racing Short Throw Shifter fit?

Fits your Porsche 964 Carrera. Fabspeed lists this piece for: Porsche 964 / 993 2WD (1989-1998). Exact fitment for your year, trim and options is confirmed on your free consult before anything is ordered.

What does the price include?

The delivered price includes the part from Fabspeed USA, freight to Australia, import costs and GST. Enter your postcode to refine delivery; the final figure is confirmed on consult.

How long until it arrives?

Every Fabspeed part is made in-house at Fabspeed USA with about a one-week production lead time, then allow another 3-4 days for delivery to Australia via UPS. That freight is already included in the price.

Can I choose how short the throw is?

Yes, the shifter has an adjustable throw range between a 40% reduction (shorter) and a 33% reduction (longer), interchangeable based on preference.

Does it change the shifter's position in the cabin?

In the longer throw setting the shifter sits and is angled exactly like the stock unit; in the shorter setting it sits about 1/2 inch taller than stock.

How long does installation take?

Numeric Racing rates it as a DIY install in just under an hour with no modifications necessary. If you'd prefer, Rennen Motorsport or an authorised dealer can fit it for you instead.

Which option should I choose?

The Swine Eleven trim panel is purely cosmetic - it lets the factory-integrated shift boot be removed for a cleaner, "Singer-style" look, and is worth adding only if you want that appearance. If you already own one, a small non-visible modification is needed to fit it to the Numeric shifter.

Who installs it?

Rennen Motorsport in Adelaide, or an authorised dealer near you. Fitting it yourself may also be an option depending on the part, so raise it on your consult; professional installation is quoted separately.

Is it covered by warranty?

Fabspeed products carry the manufacturer's warranty, supported locally through Rennen Plus as the Australian principal. See our returns policy.

Can I just buy this outright, or do I need to talk to someone first?

Every enquiry, whether it's one part or a full build, starts with a free consult. We confirm the exact spec for your car before anything is quoted or ordered.
