Direct injection quietly fixed a years-long headacheThe 997.2's new 9A1 engine family switched to direct fuel injection in 2009 and raised compression to 12.5 to 1. As a side effect that owners only came to appreciate later, it also did away with the intermediate shaft bearing that had worried 997.1 buyers for years.

Performance Package

The 997.2 brought Porsche's direct-injection flat-six to the Carrera, and it responds even better to freer-flowing exhaust than the 997.1 did. This is a configurable bundle: Fabspeed builds it around a small set of proven options rather than a single fixed spec, which means we can tune the final configuration to how you actually drive the car, whether that's daily comfort or track-day sound.

TracTive builds semi-active electronic suspension in the Netherlands, developed by engineers with roots in WP Suspension's original racing dampers. A and control unit read the road and adjust each damper within milliseconds, fitted either as a plug-and-play kit through a car's existing factory electronics or as a standalone kit running TracTive's own control unit. Touring and Track lines are available depending on the car, fitted through our network with pricing confirmed at consult. Jason's Porsche 997.2 Carrera S

Jason went the whole way through the exhaust on his 997.2 Carrera S: Fabspeed sport headers on 200 cell sport cats, the Maxflo performance side mufflers and the centre muffler bypass X-pipe. It is the full breathing package for the 3.8, and it shed some weight over the factory system on the way through.

“Sounds amazing in person. I feel some HP gains also, mostly in the mid range. Dropped some weight as well.”
