The convertible was engineered firstPorsche flipped its usual order of work for the 997. The Cabriolet's chassis stiffness problems were solved first, and the coupe was then developed to be simply more rigid off the back of that work, which is the reverse of how a drop-top is normally arrived at.

Performance Package

The 997.1 Carrera is one of the sweetest-handling 911s Porsche ever built, and this package is built to match that chassis with an exhaust note and mid-range pull to go with it. Fabspeed builds it as a configurable exhaust system rather than one fixed spec: street or race trim, tip finish, and an optional performance software tune, so fitment and character are dialled in around your car rather than sold off the shelf.

A 997.1 Carrera done the whole way through: intake, tune, exhaust, suspension and tyres in one programme. The IPD plenum and GT3 throttle body open up the top end, a Softronic tune ties the airflow and fuelling together, and the full Fabspeed Supercup system gives the flat six a voice to match. Underneath, KW suspension on Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres sorts the chassis to keep up with the engine. The owner's verdict came in before the sound clip did.
